Biology Teacher NEW - Science Teacher, Biology Specialist, £110-£180 per day

Hays Education are working with a fantastic secondary school in Tonbridge to appoint a full time teacher of Science who specialises in Biology up to A-level. This is an exciting opportunity to cover a 6 month planned absence in the Science department.

Your new school
Your new secondary school is recognised by Ofsted as an 'Outstanding' institution for both students and staff. The school's A-level exam results have been excellent and exceeded expectations over the last few years. Ascertaining high levels of student engagement is a priority across all departments within the school and adopting strategies to maintain this key.

Your new role
Your new role will give you the opportunity to share your specialism with a range of learning levels and abilities; KS3, GCSE & A-level students.You should also be confident delivering combined Science to KS3 & KS4 as you will be asked to take on additional classes. It will be your responsibility to maintain high levels of engagement to all students you teach to do this, you will receive support from the Science department as well as other staff across the school to achieve this.

You will be paid to your teaching scale (M1-M6) from day one as you will be expected to carry out full teaching responsibilities; planning and preparing, marking and supporting with parents evenings. There may be an opportunity to extend the duration of this role (circumstances depending).

What you'll need to succeed

* PGCE or QTS (qualified teacher status)
* Proven experience as a Science Teacher & Biology specialist
* Confidence delivering effective behaviour management strategies
* Teaching experience within the last 2 years (referencing requirements)
* Desire and passion to excel and support achievements for KS3, GCSE & A-Level students
* High ability to plan, prepare and deliver Science lesson material
* Willingness to contribute to parents evenings and extra curriculum activities
