Head of Residential Services (Registered Manager)

We are seeking a creative, committed and enthusiastic Head of Residential Services (Registered Manager)

Bradstow is a creative and unique residential school registered as a Children’s Home for children between the ages of 5 & 19. It is situated in 13 acres of parkland in Broadstairs, Kent. We seek to meet the needs of children and young people with autism and severe learning difficulties with associated behaviours that may be challenging using a Gentle Teaching approach and engaging in reflective practice. We have achieved national recognition for our developments in Communication and Behaviour Management as well as having been awarded the Gold standard for the Investors in People accreditation.

We are seeking an individual to undertake the primary duty of the Head of Residential Services (Registered Manager) to ensure the effective and compliant monitoring of Children’s Home Regulations, and lead the continuous improvement of the Children’s Home whilst contributing to school wide initiatives.

You will lead the care team through your dynamic approach, demonstrating systematic and creative organisational skills and acting as the school’s Designated Safeguarding Lead. What makes the difference at Bradstow is the professional and personal qualities, and the values of the people who are employed here: What it is that you as an individual have to offer our young people to enable them to feel safe, unconditionally valued and engaged.

You will be provided with an extended and ongoing package of induction and training, and will commit to achieving, within 3 years, or already hold Level 5 Diploma on Leadership for Health and Social Care and Children and Young Person’s Services or equivalent. We believe that staff training and professional development, together with the other staff support systems in place, are essential in our specialised field and are at the core of the success of the Children’s Home and School.

All staff are fully trained and supported in Gentle Teaching, Positive Behaviour Support, PECS and other augmentative communication systems, as well as being provided with a wide range of other specialist skills. You will also be encouraged and supported to extend your skills and knowledge by undertaking further studies.

Benefits include a final salary pension, excellent training and development opportunities and private healthcare.

If you would like to join our team and help us to continue to transform the lives of these children and their families, please contact us. Working at Bradstow will be challenging and you will need to be committed to the needs of the young people and the school.

To apply please see our website for details. Please note we do not accept CVs and ask all applicants to complete an application form which can be downloaded from our website and emailed or posted to us.

Please note that safeguarding of our young people is our number one priority at Bradstow, therefore all successful applicants will be subject to an enhanced DBS check and thorough pre-employment checks.
