Based in Canterbury
Our client, a leading provider of bespoke software solutions, is seeking an Application Developer to join their collaborative project team.
As the Developer, you'll work closely with existing clients to maintain and improve the functionality of their software (written in VB6 with SQL database backend).
The ability to work in high pressure environment for demanding clients through development and delivery is critical to success in this role.
Responsibilities will include:
* Effectively analyse technical requirements of clients
* Participate in project planning
* Write and debug complex code, plan and execute system tests
* Assist with and diagnose support queries and issues
* Generate development scripts in accordance with company protocol
* Control data in accordance with the client's specific security policies
You'll have plenty of opportunities to expand beyond VB6 as your role grows, so must be enthusiastic to learning new things.
Skills Requirements:
* Computing Degree and 1 year's commercial experience or 3 years' commercial experience
* Experience with VBA / VB6 and Transact SQL is essential
* Strong communication skills are key as your role will include providing telephone support
* Ability to problem solve and think critically to develop creative solutions
