A large company based between Maidstone and Ashford are looking to recruit a Trainee Materials Tester, initially on a temporary basis. The position will lead to permanent employment for the right candidate after a 12 week qualifying period.
Your main duties will include preparing samples for testing under supervision, testing samples, recording your findings and updating daily work records as required - previous experience is not essential as full training will be given.
Ideally you will be educated to GCSE or equivalent in Maths, English and a Science subject, have excellent numerical and communication skills, be able to analyse data and have a "can do" attitude.
Other attributes include being diligent, conscientious, motivated, flexible, forward thinking and customer focused. You will enjoy working within a team and be IT literate and be happy to carry out repetitive tasks.
Permanent Salary £19,500, rising to £20,500 after passing probation.
The work environment can be dirty and dusty and the role can be a reasonably manual one.
