A vacancy has become available for a CNC shift Team/Leader, reporting to the production/lean supervisor, working in the CNC cell on a double shift pattern of 06.00 to 14.00 and 14.00 to 22.00 alternating weekly.

Main Responsibilities
• Manage work load on a daily basis to meet customer demands.
• Record and report any quality/material issues to the Supervisor.
• Able to manage a team of people and set production tasks and targets for individuals.
• To be lean in activities around waste, quality, productivity and/or on time delivery.
• Manufacture products to a quality standard to meet the customers’ requirements
• Good Communicational skills between shifts and within the team

Key tasks
• Training and managing persons on all equipment, processes and company procedure.
• Knowledge of folding and forming
• Product assembly and testing
• To load, program, tool change and setting of CNC machinery
• Able to process and read production orders
• Monitor and report daily production activity.

Operational responsibilities/Skills
• Attention to detail and high degree of accuracy.
• Good organisation and administrative skills.
• Good use of CNC metal forming and punching equipment.
• Quick to learn and willing to progress.

Experience/qualifications/Qualities
• Previous experience of working on a CNC production environment.
• City/Guilds/NVQ Qualification
• A sound knowledge and understanding of all CNC programmes and manufacturing techniques, and fully trained in the setting and operation of the CNC equipment.
• Ability to understand and interpret all types of production documents, drawings and procedures
• Good organisation, communication and administrative skills

The position is based in Whitstable.

Pay rate dependent on experience.
