A fantastic opportunity is now available for an experienced Nurse Team Leader to manage a small care team in a non-smoking family home in Greenwich. Looking after a 6 year old boy with cerebral palsy and epilepsy, who requires chest physiotherapy and care monitoring at all times. He is dependent on others to meet all his care needs, is a wheelchair user and uses a hoist for transfers.
For this position we require a Nurse Team Leader who will monitor, implement and update the care plans, risk assessments and protocols to maintain safety. The Nurse Team Leader will also complete and manage the staff rota, plan and organise medical and therapy appointments, ensure that clinical notes are completed to a high standard, and produce a monthly report detailing the child’s care needs and the progress he has made. The Nurse Team Leader will manage, mentor and support all team members, arrange and carry out supervisions, appraisals, training and lead inclusive team meetings. Team management will also include managing timesheets, annual leave, holiday requests and petty cash. The Nurse Team Leader will also manage stocks ensuring the child has everything he needs and, whilst on shift with the child, will deliver 1:1 support and complete personal care and therapy programmes.
Working Hours:
16 hours per week minimum, to include 6 hours per week admin duties.
Monday to Friday: 15:30 to 20:00
Also holiday cover shifts may include:-
Saturdays: 08:00 to 20:00
Nights: 20:00 to 08:00
School Holidays: 08:00 to 20:00
On-call duties as required.
Hourly Rates:
Weekdays £26.00 per hour
Weekends: £28.00 per hour
Experience & Qualities required for the role:
Qualified Registered General Nurse;
Computer literate and an excellent communicator, confident liaising with the child’s family, Case Manager and multi-disciplinary team;
Full flexibility and availability to work a mixture of days/nights and weekends is essential, although primarily the role will be undertaken Monday to Friday with the direct care shifts being after school or for hospital appointments.
A clean driving licence is also essential.
