Nestled in a peaceful residential suburb of Gillingham, Rogers House offers person centred residential care on a respite or permanent basis to over 65\'s with a variety of care and support needs.

Spread over three floors, the care home can provide care for up to 41 older people within a homely and welcoming pet friendly environment. Rogers House is also home to Rusty the cat, who provides great companionship for the residents of the home.

Rogers House can also provide short term care. They aim to provide a home from home, giving both the residents and their carer a chance to relax and recharge their batteries. When residents come and stay with us their carers can relax, they have peace of mind knowing that their loved one is safe and being cared for in a homely environment.

Residents benefit from excellent facilities including multiple seating areas, a large homely dining room, activity room, kitchenette and landscaped spacious gardens.

Roger\'s House highly trained staff are committed to caring for the residents as though they are an extended family member, getting to know them and supporting them to live life to the fullest.

The home has vacancies for Bank Night Carers, to join our teams providing cover for holidays and absences.

Pay: £8.25 - £8.33 per hour. Early shift: 7am - 2.20pm Late shift: 2pm - 9.20pm

Day Carers provide person centred care and support needs to residents in a way that respects the dignity of the individual and promotes independence.

Day Carers also help care for our residents physical environment and assist in the general day-to-day activities of the home including housekeeping duties

Main Duties and Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

o Assisting residents with all aspects of their personal care needs including dressing, undressing, bathing and personal care, respecting their dignity and privacy at all times.
o Supporting residents with their mobility
o Making and changing beds, emptying commodes, tidying and caring for residents rooms.
o Inspecting, laundering and care for residents clothing, as required.
o Assisting residents who need help to eat their meals
o Reading and updating daily records / care plans
o Answering emergency bells, telephone and entrance door, and greeting visitors.


The ideal Day Carer will demonstrate

o A caring and compassionate approach
o Patience and understanding of older people
o Knowledge of or a willingness to be trained in the correct procedures for carrying out all of their duties including use of moving and handling equipment
o An understanding of Health and Safety
o Good communication skills with different groups, e.g. staff, residents, local community
o Understanding of different values / cultures of residents and staff
o Team working skills
o Good timekeeping skills
o Professionalism


The ideal Day Carer will have the ability to:

o Play an active role in creating a good environment
o Prioritise their work
o Be aware of the support needed by others, consider how they can support them and encourage and support them
o Train for and take on additional responsibilities
o Listen carefully and attentively
o Respect the dignity and privacy of all those they come into contact with
o Apply their knowledge and training in the workplace
o Uphold the policies and procedures of The Organisation
o Promote a positive image of the Organisation.
o Work to promote equality and diversity, and eliminate discrimination for all the Organisations service users, staff and volunteers.
