Applicants are invited to apply for the position of Assistant Management Accountant based at the Port of Sheerness. As part of the on-site Finance team you will support operational and financial management through reporting, forecasting, analysis and management of financial performance whilst looking to drive continuous improvement. Key responsibilities include:

- Assist in the preparation of management accounts, forecasting and budgets;
- Support operational teams in producing periodic financial reports and associated financial analysis; exception reporting, reporting trends and key performance indicators;
- Support departmental managers in managing their financial budgets;
- Assist in the preparation of the relevant Balance Sheet control accounts;
- Improve and develop the quality and efficiency of financial/management information required throughout the business;
- Work closely with the wider business and carry out any ad hoc requirements they may have to improve the business and make it more efficient, productive and profitable.

Applicants interested in this role should ideally possess the following skills and experience:

- Qualified AAT or at Certificate Level CIMA with the intention to attain full CIMA qualification, study support available to progress to full qualification;
- A team player, with an ability to communicate financial matters clearly and confidently to various stakeholders;
- Excellent analytic and Microsoft Excel skills, with the ability to analyse information and present it in a meaningful way;
- Proven accounting experience covering: accounts payable; accounts receivable; general ledger; cash and bank; fixed assets; VAT;
- Able to multi-task and prioritise work load effectively, adaptable to change in a fast-paced environment;
- Previous experience of SUN and/or SAP would be beneficial.
