Following an organizational review of our FCA service operation franchised to repair Alfa Romeo, Jeep, Fiat and Abarth cars we are inviting applications for a Service Manager at our prestige facility on Forstal Road, Aylesford. Previously operated with a workshop and reception manager this new role is more conventional with the successful applicant taking full responsibility for the service operations including front and rear of house. Reporting to the Dealer Principal on a daily basis the objective is to grow the department and improve overall efficiency through managing well informed and trained staff committed to the company high standard of customer satisfaction.

With an initial team of 7 technicians, 2 service advisors and part time warranty and admin staff the objective is to grow labour sales through the use of EVHC and a dedicated marketing department assisting with prospect and follow up activity. This management position will involve day to day involvement and direction to the team with a commitment to grow and develop the department beyond its existing size and the rewards that will bring to the successful individual.

Duties will include:

Daily control of workshop diaries and work distribution
Handling customer queries and interaction as required at peak periods
Ensuring a robust quality control system is maintained
Motivation and guidance to the service department team, liaison with parts department
Workshop control of work in progress and warranty claims administration
Weekly progress meetings with Dealer Principal and staff communication

Skills and experience required:

Essential:

Excellent inter personal skills and articulate with outgoing personality
Sound knowledge of franchised workshop operations
Excellent man management and motivational skills
Keyboard and computer skills to include Microsoft Office and Outlook
The ability to work to target deadlines

Desirable:

Proven experience within service management environment linked to franchised business

Training of dealer management systems will be given in-house together with product knowledge through manufacturer training programs.

In return we offer 20 day’s holiday rising to 25 days long service, company contributory pension scheme, staff and family discount schemes including a car benefit scheme after 12 months employment.

Hours: Full Time 8.00 – 6.00 Monday – Friday, Alternate Saturday Mornings 8.30 – 1.00 pm
