FNH UK provides solutions for weapon design, production and mounting requirements for Infantry, AFV, and Naval platforms.

FNH UK originally traded as Manroy Engineering Limited which was formed in 1975 to support the spares requirements of the British Army.
Since July 2014 it has been a wholly-owned subsidiary of Belgium-based small arms manufacturer FN Herstal, S.A., in September 2017 the Company changed its name to FNH UK becoming more embedding into the Herstal Group of Companies.

The Assembler (Range Team) will be responsible from providing support across the complete FNH UK product range. As part of the Product Compliance team, you will be responsible on behalf of the company CEO/COO for the safe handling and firing of our weapons at the relevant ranges.

The role will report directly to the Product Compliance Supervisor

Duties will include, but not limited to:

• In conjunction with the Product Support Supervisor, take full responsibility for the movement, safe handling, transport and firing of prohibited weapons in alignment with both company procedures and Section 5 of the Firearms Act 1968 (Amended)
• Fully responsible for all training briefs at the ranges prior to any firing being carried out. All training shall be carried out in line wit the processes and procedures of the given ranges.
• As part of the range team, responsible for sharing the driving duties for the transport of prohibited firearms to and from the ranges/proof house.
• Responsible for supporting customer demonstrations and any range activities in support of Pre delivery Inspections (PDI)
• Responsible in conjunction with FNH UK Product Compliance Manager to execute customer demonstrations in the UK.
• Functional testing of weapons and ancillary equipment to comply with all necessary requirements.
• Responsible for articulating any quality/functioning issues of the weapons to the Quality and Product Development Supervisor for further investigation
• Responsible for the liaison and communication with the various range owners to ensure FNH UK activities are well communicated and thus maintain a good long-term working relationship.
• Correctly identifying parts and assembling into the various assemblies used in the
production of all FN products
• Building weapon sub-assemblies and other ancillary equipment to comply with the requirements as set out on job cards, works orders, drawings, quality procedures, work instructions and other specified requirements.
• Assembly of small parts with scrupulous attention to detail and engineering compliance/tolerances.
• Carrying out degreasing and cleaning on components where required
• Assisting with the preservation, packing and dispatch of products
• Proof testing of weapons in accordance with all legal requirements.
• Assist in the undertaking of servicing weapons and ancillary equipment, in-house or at the customer’s premises to comply with all necessary requirements.
• Liaise with the Quality Department on any noncompliant product
• Ensuring all work undertaken in-house is conducted in a manner to comply with the requirements of FNH UK’s Quality Manuals, Work Instructions, Health and Safety Instructions as well as all legal obligations pertaining to the safe handling and storage of armaments/weapons under the Firearms Act 1968 (As Amended).
• Responsible, in conjunction with the Maintenance Supervisor for the upkeep of FNH UK equipment and facilities located at the external ranges
• Maintaining the workplace in a clean and tidy state at all times


Essential Skills

• Previous Operator and Maintainer experience on MAG 58/GPMG and HMG/M2 weapon platforms
• Knowledge and understand of operation of the FNH UK range of products
• RCO Qualified
• Possess a full UK valid driving License to drive the Company’s range vehicles.
• Ability to instruct at Operator and Maintainer level
• Ability to communicate effectively with managers and senior managers
• Good written/communication skills
• Willingness to undertake training and continuing professional development
