An exciting opportunity for a highly experienced Bookkeeper to join our expanding business in Tovil, Maidstone, Kent. This is a sole position, running the books and Accounts Dept for our business. 4 – 5 days required per week. Good rates of pay based on experience. Will consider self employed or PAYE. The right person must have extensive experience of running the day to day books of a business.
Main duties:
1. Bought ledger – everything relating to B/L – reconciling delivery notes to invoices/entering invoices/agreeing statements/paying suppliers/filing said paperwork
2. Sales Ledger – uploading sales invoices from bespoke software programme to Sage/entering payments received/reconciling all payments in and out
3. Bank rec’s printed and agreed at the end of each month and throughout each month
4. VAT returns – ensuring accuracy of VAT and other tax calculations and their payment.
5. Year end draft accounts
6. Cash Accounting
7. Ensuring that payroll payments and document submissions are accurate and completed on time
Required qualifications:
• Extensive accounting experience encompassing sales ledger, and purchase ledger.
• Extensive credit control
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skill.
• Knowledge of Sage Line 50.
