A rare opportunity has arisen with one of our prestigious manufacturing clients for an experienced permanent Production Manager to lead and develop their production teams, ensuring safe, efficient and cost-effective manufacturing operations.

The Role

You will drive continuous improvement using Lean Manufacturing principles, optimise production processes, reduce waste and inventory costs, and ensure production, quality and delivery targets are consistently achieved. You will lead by example, develop a multi-skilled workforce and promote a culture of teamwork, accountability and high standards.

You will work 35 hours per week and the company can have a degree of flexibility around the core hours of 06.30-16.00, Monday-Friday

Key Responsibilities

* Lead, motivate and develop production teams.
* Manage production planning, scheduling and resource allocation.
* Drive continuous improvement and operational efficiency.
* Monitor production KPIs and achieve quality and delivery targets.
* Reduce waste, improve productivity and control inventory costs.
* Maintain high standards of health, safety and quality.
* Work collaboratively across departments to meet business objectives.

About You

You will have:

* Proven experience in a Production Manager or similar manufacturing leadership role.
* Experience managing teams, production planning and performance KPIs.
* A sound understanding of Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement.
* Strong leadership, communication, organisational and problem-solving skills.
* GCSEs or equivalent in Maths and English.
* A proactive, results-driven approach, with a strong commitment to quality, safety and teamwork.
* 5 years plus of senior leadership role with a manufacturing environment
* Previous employment within a lean manufacturing organisation and implementing lean processes successfully is essential

Desirable: Engineering or industrial manufacturing experience, a management or Lean qualification, Health & Safety qualifications (IOSH/NEBOSH), and experience using ERP or production management systems.
