Senior Software Engineer – C#/.NET, Azure, Microservices
We are working with an established and growing organisation that is looking to appoint an experienced Senior Software Engineer to join its technology team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a strong C#/.NET engineer to play a key role in designing, building and maintaining secure, scalable and high-performing software solutions. You will work closely with product, delivery and engineering teams, contributing to technical architecture and helping shape the continued development of the organisation’s technology platforms.
The role:
As a Senior Software Engineer, you will:
* Design, build and maintain scalable, secure and reliable software solutions.
* Translate business requirements into effective technical solutions.
* Contribute to architectural decisions and the evolution of technology platforms.
* Develop clean, well-tested and maintainable code.
* Design and support APIs, microservices and event-driven systems.
* Champion modern engineering practices, including automated testing, CI/CD and DevOps.
* Participate in code reviews and promote continuous improvement.
* Ensure solutions meet security, resilience and organisational standards.
* Mentor and support other engineers, sharing knowledge across the team.
* Collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders across the business.
Skills and experience:
The successful candidate will ideally have:
* Strong commercial experience developing software using C# and .NET.
* A solid understanding of object-oriented design principles.
* Experience designing and building distributed systems, APIs and scalable applications.
* Knowledge of microservices and event-driven architecture.
* Experience working within cloud-native environments, ideally Microsoft Azure.
* Experience with CI/CD pipelines and modern DevOps practices.
* Knowledge of containerisation technologies, including Docker and Kubernetes.
* A strong understanding of software architecture and secure development principles.
* Experience working with relational and NoSQL databases.
* Exposure to a modern frontend framework such as Angular.
* Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills.
* Previous experience mentoring or supporting other software engineers.
This position would suit an experienced software engineer who enjoys solving complex technical challenges, working collaboratively and balancing engineering excellence with commercial outcomes.
