Working via Hays Specialist Recruitment, you will be supporting a reputable contractor on a secure project within HMP East Sutton Park. This is a long-term opportunity on a well-managed site with consistent work available.

Your new role

We are currently seeking a reliable Welfare Labourer to join a live construction project within a prison environment. This role will focus on maintaining welfare facilities and ensuring high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and organisation across the site.

Duties will include:

* Cleaning and maintaining site welfare facilities, including canteens, toilets, drying rooms, and offices.
* Ensuring communal areas are kept clean, safe, and well-presented
* Replenishing consumables such as soap, toilet roll, and paper towels
* Carrying out general labouring duties when required, including site clearance and waste management
* Assisting with deliveries, moving materials, and supporting trades on site.
* Maintaining safe working conditions and adhering to all health & safety regulations

What you'll need to succeed

* Valid Green CSCS Card
* Full PPE including:

* Hard hat with 4-point chin strap
* Safety glasses
* Gloves
* High-visibility vest (unbranded)
* Safety boots

* Ability to pass prison vetting (Hays will support with this process)
* Previous site experience in a labouring or welfare role preferred
* Strong work ethic, reliability, and punctuality
* Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
