Location: The postholder will be based at Berwick House, Elwick Road, Ashford and require occasional travel in the Borough of Ashford

JOB DESCRIPTION AND PERSON SPECIFICATION

Purpose of role

Coordination of our transport scheme, including the management of all transport volunteers, ensuring the transport scheme runs well and is able to grow to meet increasing demand.

Main responsibilities

 Staff the transport office each afternoon Monday to Friday from 12.00 – 4.00

 Deal with requests for transport received by phone, email and through our online booking system

 Relationship management with transport clients, ensuring they understand the service, are trained to use the online booking system (where possible), that their mobility needs are recorded and managing expectations

 Management of the transport office and driver volunteer team, ensuring cover is in place for sickness and holidays, DBS checks are undertaken, monitoring performance of volunteers and providing opportunities for volunteers to support with continuous improvement of the service

 Training of the transport office and driver volunteers, ensuring they know how to use the CATSS system, understand AVC customer standards and processes and have undertaken mandatory training courses

 Utilising the CATSS transport management system to monitor demand for the service and working alongside the Transport development Coordinator,proactively increase volunteer
recruitment to meet demand

 Liaison with AVC’s finance officer to ensure payments are received and transport scheme related debts are avoided

 Develop and run a new service user feedback group and share client feedback with senior staff and trustees

 Regularly monitor client satisfaction through telephone surveys

 Work alongside the Transport Development Coordinator to increase partnership working and ensure client journey requests are fulfilled as much as possible

 Market the transport service using appropriate methods, to reach a wider client base

 Carry out other duties appropriate to the post’s role,responsibilities and grading.
