Overview

A respected and well-established Chartered Accountancy firm in Eastbourne is seeking a talented Accounts Technician to join their friendly and professional team. Known for their supportive working environment and commitment to staff development, this firm offers a fantastic opportunity to progress your career!

You will be responsible for preparing year-end accounts and tax returns for a broad range of clients, ensuring compliance and accuracy at all times. The role is office-based whilst you settle in, before moving to a hybrid structure after probation.

Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week.

Salary up to £35,000 depending on experience/qualifications. Higher salaries can be discussed.

Duties

Prepare year-end accounts for sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies
Complete personal and corporation tax returns, ensuring timely submission
Assist with VAT returns and bookkeeping tasks as required
Liaise directly with clients to gather information and resolve queries
Maintain compliance with current accounting standards and legislation
Support more junior members of the team when required
Communicate with HMRC regarding client matters
Work closely with managers and partners on ad-hoc assignments

What we’re looking for

A successful candidate for this role will have a few years prior UK accountancy practice experience, ideally AAT qualified (not essential), and be confident handling the duties listed above. Strong communication skills and attention to detail are essential.
