Job Title: Bookkeeper
Location: Marden Kent (Hybrid working available)
Salary: £30,000 – £35,000 per annum (DOE)
Job Type: Full Time Monday - Friday

The Imaging Centre is a successful, family-run business based in the heart of Marden, Kent, specialising in the production and fulfilment of high-quality greeting cards. As the greeting card industry continues to thrive, so does our business – and we’re now looking to grow our internal team with the addition of a dedicated Bookkeeper to support and enhance our finance function.

Role Overview
We’re seeking a skilled and proactive Full Time Bookkeeper to join our Accounts Department, working alongside our experienced Account Manager. While the core of this role involves standard bookkeeping responsibilities, we’re looking for someone who brings initiative, efficiency, and a drive to improve systems and processes. You’ll play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring timely reporting, and helping to identify opportunities to streamline our internal workflows in support of a growing and customer-focused operation.

Key Responsibilities
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records and ledgers
• Process invoices, purchase orders, expenses, and payments
• Perform bank reconciliations and ensure all transactions are correctly recorded
• Monitor accounts receivable and payable, following up as required
• Prepare VAT returns and assist with financial reports
• Support month-end and year-end accounting procedures
• Collaborate with our Account Manager to maintain smooth financial operations
• Suggest and help implement improvements in accounting processes and tools to better support customers and internal teams
• Ensure all finance activities comply with current accounting standards and legislation

Requirements
• Proven experience in a bookkeeping or finance role
• Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., Sage, QuickBooks, Xero, or similar)
• Strong knowledge of UK financial regulations, VAT, and standard bookkeeping practices
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
• Confidence to identify and implement process improvements
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
• A positive and proactive approach to problem-solving
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
