Automation Maintenance Engineer

At FloPlast Ltd we design and manufacture a range of specialist plastic building and plumbing systems used widely in UK construction industry.
As an Automation Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for the routine, proactive and reactive maintenance of machinery within the manufacturing areas.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
• Maintenance of the Automation and Production departments to include; Automation Assembly, Cast Iron Spray-Shop, Fabrication,
Department, FloFit Production Department, Regrind Department, Injection moulding machinery and all associated ancillary equipment
including all conveyors.
• Carry out regular/routine servicing on all machinery to ensure quality and machine efficiency are maintained.
• Tool change the automatic machinery when required to follow the production planning schedule.
• Monitor the performance of machinery in the department and maintain detailed maintenance records for each machine.
• Monitor and adjust the automation machinery to ensure the efficiency of the machine and ensure bag length, artworks and quantities are
in line with company specifications.
• Monitor automatic bagging machines and ensure that the correct size bag is manufactured for each product produced.
• Ensure that a stock of essential spare parts is maintained on site to reduce downtime caused by breakdowns.
• Oversee contractors working on machinery in the Automation or Production department.
Hours of work:
Week 1 - Monday to Friday 7.00am to 3.00pm (with 30 minutes of paid break)
Week 2 - Monday to Friday 3.00pm to 11.00pm (with 30 minutes of paid break)
About You
• You’ll have completed a recognised Engineering apprenticeship / HNC.
• You’ll have a minimum 3 years’ experience of working as part of a maintenance team.
• You’ll be multi skilled in both mechanical and electrical engineering.
• You’ll have knowledge of pneumatic systems.
• You’ll have an understanding of industrial automation.
Desirable Skills / Experience Qualifications:
• Experience of 6 axis robot programming with any of the following manufacturers, ABB, Staubli or KUKA.
• PLC programming experience on either Mitsubishi or Allen Bradley.
