Sheet Metal CAD CAM Developer

£30000 - £35000 per annum + DOE

Our client in Basildon, who are one of the most respected UK manufacturers of their product, are actively seeking to recruit a highly skilled and detail orientated Sheet Metal CAD Developer to join their fabrication workshop on a permanent basis.

As the sheet metal CAD developer, you will be responsible for programming turret punch machines to produce sheet metal products. This is an integral role within the business as you will be developing CAD drawings and breaking down into parts for punching whilst working alongside different departments within the business. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who has strong fabrication knowledge and a proactive problem-solving manner. The core responsibilities for this role will include:

* Programming CNC turret punch machines to manufacture sheet metal components from CAD data.
* Interpreting CAD drawings and develop into sheet metal CAD files.
* Creating accurate programs.
* Optimising and refining CNC programs using SigmaNest or similar software.
* Overseeing the efficient planning for production operations.
* Monitoring material usage and applying strategies to reduce waste.
* Troubleshooting, programming, and machine related issues to ensure consistent quality and output.
* Working closely with the design and shop floor teams to enhance workflow and product quality.
* Maintaining records and documentation related programs.

For this role you will require:

* Proven experience in CNC programming for turret punch machines.
* Proficiency in CAD/CAM software such as Lantek, AutoCAD, solidWorks or similar.
* Experience using SigmaNest or similar software.
* Ability to interpret technical drawings, measure sheets, 3D CAD files and DXF files.
* Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
* Comfortable working independently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
* Experience with machine troubleshooting and quality assurance tools/ instruments.

The hours of work for this role are Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm.
