Tax Assistant Manager/Manager

£35,000 - £50,000

Sevenoaks, Kent

Goldhawk Associates Ltd

I am currently supporting a large national firm of accountants who are looking to appoint to their West Kent-based office and are looking to appoint a Corporate Tax specialist to their team. They are open to the level of appointment and can consider someone at a Semi-Senior/Senior/Assistant Tax Manager level. They are based in Kent for work-life balance purposes, but their client base is one you would expect to find working for a top London based firm. They are looking for an experienced tax professional with a background in corporation tax as this will be the main focus of the role, with a little personal tax work at times. They are a reputable firm providing tax consultancy advice and accountancy support to their client base and have grown their service delivery within a very niche market.

Ideally, they are looking to appoint someone who is an experienced Tax specialist who is either ATT/CTA/ACA Qualified and has experience of working in a similar field. Depending on the level of appointment you will support/be responsible for working on/managing a portfolio of corporate clients which vary from OMB to large corporate groups, experience in M&A would be beneficial. You will work within a small team, supporting the Partners, providing portfolio support/management and advisory services for the firm, and be responsible for working within budget/budgeting, planning, and managing the team. This is an interesting role and would suit someone with knowledge or previous exposure to corporate tax computations for R&D calculations and more complex Corporation tax (involving international/groups). There is a potential that you may also get involved in due diligence support for Mergers &
Acquisitions as well as the EMI and EIS work as they are building a centre of excellence for the group, based in their offices.

The Partners are both Top 10 trained and can offer a professional, rewarding, and fast-paced environment where you will be rewarded for your efforts and achievements. At the same time, they can offer a very competitive salary, flexibility with hours, and work-life balance. If you have previous experience of working for a larger firm this could be beneficial due to the client base you will be supporting.

Your responsibilities:
-Advise on R&D tax credits
-EIS relief
-EMI share schemes
-Transfer pricing consideration
-Planning for intellectual property
-Corporate tax advice including reorganisations and reconstructions
-Complex tax provisions and tax computations
-Personal tax planning and compliance
-International tax planning including personal and corporate
-Manage, review and prepare complex cases

You will also be involved in providing advice on a wide range of projects, working with clients who have international links, and being responsible for managing these client relationships. Identifying client needs and requirements will be key and you will be expected to network and engage with clients and be responsible for developing business for the firm.

This firm offers the opportunity to work within a very consultative environment as they offer highly technical advice to their clients. They are happy to support further development and growth and are looking for someone ambitious who can support the team and work independently, network and develop business, and contribute to the growth and success of the firm

Unfortunately, due to the high number of applications currently being received, only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.
