Internal Sales & Quotes Engineer
£35k - 45k per year + Benefits

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Sales and Quotations Engineer with a backhround in mechanical engineering. This client is a worldclass manufacturing business, they are activity expanding the sales and support team due to business growth. Candidates must come from a similar ennvironment and must be able to evidence experience on the submitted CV. This role is available immedately.
Tasks:
• Produce accurate, consistent and timely quotes for customers to a schedule agreed by the Commercial Manager.
• Review and interrogate customer tender documents to ensure that the quote captures all aspects of the customer requirements.
• Liaise, as required, with the Design Engineering team to ensure that quotes remain within the business scope and in line with the relevant standards – BS61439-2.
• Consult and liaise with suppliers and service providers to ensure that quotes are accurate and meet customer expectations.
• Provide accurate lead time estimates in conjunction with the Commercial, Engineering and Operations Mangers.
• Produce an estimated Bills of Material, for quotation purposes.
• Review actual costs against estimated costings and ensure that the quoting process is continuously improved.
• Construct commercial and technical documentation for inclusion in quotations, RAMS and O&M documentation.
• Respond to customer enquiries and any further questions arising from quotations.
• Respond to customer requests for progress updates on current orders.
• Transmit documents to customers for review and/or approval.
• Build and develop professional relationships with customers to foster ongoing and future business opportunities.
• Load sales orders and update information into the Materials Resource Planning System - Progress Plus.
• Attend site visits and site surveys as required.
• Assist with sales forecasting.
• Assist with internal audits.
• Assist with developing new procedures and systems.
• Monitor potential supplier price increases, and negotiate to minimise the impact on company costs.
• Record customer communications so that the Sales Team can offer continuity to the customer.
Business Responsibilities:
• Work within the frameworks provided by the ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 Management Systems.
Person Specification.
Qualifications:
Electrical Engineering Apprenticeship / Electrical HND / Electrical BSc or equivalent.Candidates with sufficient demonstrable experience are encouraged to apply.
Experience:
• Essential – previous sales experience with Low Voltage Switchgear
• Desirable – previous experience in a similar role. LV equipment sales.
Skills.
PC Literate:
• Microsoft Office Products. Email, Excel & Word (Essential).
• AutoCad or Solidworks experience (desirable)
Planning and Delivery:
• Able to plan, co-ordinate and assign tasks effectively.
