Established in 1991, FloPlast Ltd is an ever growing, market leader in the manufacture and supply of plastic building and plumbing systems to the UK Construction Sector. We specialise in PVC Roofline, Rainwater, Soil & Waste, Underground Drainage and Hot & Cold Plumbing Systems which we manufacture ourselves and supply directly to Builders and Plumbers Merchants; including B&Q, Screwfix, Selco and Travis Perkins. We are looking to recruit a Quality Apprentice within our Quality Department. This role will assist the Quality Manager in maintaining the Company’s Quality System; learning through a hands on approach with the view of a permanent role within the Quality Department once the apprenticeship is completed.

The responsibilities and main duties for this position include but are not limited to the following:
• Reporting and investigating incidents
• Keeping internal documentation updated: Processes / Packing specifications etc
• Keeping BOMs (SAP) updated
• Keeping inspection plans in BARCO updated
• Cover for Goods In inspection

This apprenticeship will lead to a Level 4 HNC qualification in Mechanical Engineering. The course will be undertaken via Mid Kent
College in Maidstone and is typically a 42-month apprenticeship. The following Areas of study will be covered:

Year 1
Engineering Mathematics (Mechanical)
Engineering Science (Mechanical)
Advanced Computer Aided Design Techniques
Applications of Pneumatics and Hydraulics

Year 2
Mechanical Principles
Fluid Mechanics
Materials Engineering
Engineering Project (Mechanical)


Hours of work are Monday to Friday 8:00am to 4:30pm with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break (40 hours per week). Starting rate of £8.19 per hour to be reviewed annually.

Applicants must have 5 GCSE’s at A*- C / 9-4 to include English and Mathematics or an equivalent.
