Design Technician

£26,000 - £28,000 DOE, Burgess Hill, Mon - Thur 9am - 5:30pm, Fri 9am - 5pm, 20 days annual leave + Christmas shutdown + bank holidays, Medical Insurance, Life Assurance, Pension, Parking



The Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Design Technician to join a market-leading business within the construction and interior fit-out sector. Working as part of a small design team, you will be responsible for using computer software to produce plans and technical drawings for a range of products and components. You will create accurate 2D Drawings of sections, plans and details.

* Create 2D designs to draw a flat representation of the product/component build-up along with elevational drawings
* Convert verbal and written information into 2D drawings which will then be used on site for construction
* Maintain CAD blocks and standard details
* Use standard designs to help prepare assembly instructions and maintenance manuals for installation
* Offer advice to the various regions on standard build practice and product limitations
* Update and make amendments to existing CAD drawings
* Confer with relevant personnel to ensure a full understanding of client requirements is obtained

Requirements

We would expect the successful candidate to have experience using AutoCAD. Those with limited experience will be considered as training can be provided for someone who has had some exposure to AutoCAD. You will have strong IT skills and be comfortable picking up systems quickly. Ideally you will have exposure to the construction sector, however, again experience in any general design will be considered.
