Key Objectives

•              This is a varied role with responsibility for both financial and management accounting.

•              To administer and prepare the company’s management accounts including executive summaries, supplementary information and detailed analysis of performance.

•              To provide management accounting support to the Finance Director and wider business.

Duties and Responsibilities

•              The timely and accurate preparation of monthly management accounts for the UK parent company plus subsidiary entities based in Germany and Hong Kong.

•              Preparation of the quarterly Group consolidated management accounts.

•              Provision of commentary and variance analysis against key metrics including turnover, expenditure and profit margin.

•              Maintenance of Balance Sheet reconciliations and Fixed Assets register.

•              Completing Intercompany balance sheet checks and following up with subsidiaries to correct any differences.

•              Provision of consistent product cost data and analysis covering BOM and labour recovery.

•              Regular review of costs with a view to identification of possible savings measures.

•              Report on monthly sales order intake.

•              Providing financial support to senior managers to help them make informed business decisions.

•              Assist the Finance Director in preparing the annual budget and periodic forecasts.

•              Assist in developing our ERP system to improve quality and timeliness of business information.

•              Provide support to other members of the team where required.


Essential Skills

•              Ideally you will be a qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA or CIMA).

Desired Skills

•              Strong interpersonal skills and able to communicate effectively throughout the business.

•              Commercially aware.

•              Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.

•              Enthusiastic and able to use own initiative.

•              Good team player with flexible approach to ensure deadlines are met.

•              Confident user of Microsoft Excel & Powerpoint.

•              Experience of working within a Manufacturing environment would be an advantage.

•              Experience of Microsoft Dynamics (or similar system) would be especially useful.
