Specialist housing charity - Care Workers needed - Adults Mental Health - Full time

Care Worker: Mental Health - Residential
Ongoing: with potential to go perm
Full time: 35 hours per week both day and night shifts
Up to £11.94ph: Increase earned after passing probation

Your new company
Hays are working with a specialist housing charity who provide a service to adults at risk who are living with mental health needs and who require support with their housing. They provide homes to around 200 hundred adults and offer a range of support to help each individual resident to maximise their independence.

Your new role
All the residents will require low to medium level support dependent on their differing levels of mental health needs.
* To carry out the duties and responsibilities pertaining to the rota and residents' care plans
* Make regular reports and contributions to residents' care plans and communicate with your line manager on all issues concerning your employment and residents' care.
* Ensure and maintain a healthy and safe environment in which to work and in which residents can live comfortably and safely.
* To report any repairs and maintenance to the appropriate staff member.
* To follow procedures pertaining to cash handling
* To provide the following residents and home care services.
* Record two-way internal and external communications.
* To regularly implement and review residents care plans and complete contact journals as appropriate.
* To provide emergency intervention as part of residents' care.
* To observe and assist with medication administration where required (training will be provided).
* To follow the cleaning rota as set by the Registered Manager.
* Supervision and provision of residents with basic living skills.
* Supervision of residents in communal areas o Supervision of residents to safely maintain personal space.
* To attend training sessions in relation to your job role and personal development.
* To keep contact with each resident's multi-disciplinary team.
* To uphold and implement all policies and procedures o To contribute to Person Centred Care Plans as required.
* To contribute to Person Centred Risk Assessments as required.
* To follow individual Person-Centred Care Plans and Risk Assessments and to report any concerns or inaccuracies relating to these documents to your line manager.
* To travel between the allocated services during the shift as appropriate according to the needs of the residents and service at that time.
* To undertake any additional tasks deemed reasonable in line with the duties of your role.

What you'll need to succeed
* Experience working with residents who live in supported accommodation.
* Experience working in the mental health/care sector
* NVQ or Diploma relevant to the industry - Desirable
* Able to demonstrate a conscientious and dedicated attitude.
* Ability to lone work and use initiative.
* Able to work both day and night shifts as required.
