Forklift Driver

£11 per hour, full time, North Chailey, Monday to Friday, 7am - 4:30pm + some very occasional overtime if required, 28 days holiday, Christmas shutdown, generous staff discounts, health insurance, dog friendly office!



The Role

Our client is looking for a reliable and experienced Forklift Driver / warehouse operative to join their growing team. The role will work closely with the production team who are making food-based products in bulk for wholesale shipping. This role can be a fast-paced position and will involve working with raw food items kept in temperature-controlled environments. Experience in a similar role or working with food would be advantageous. Core duties will include:

* Picking items using scanning system and packing finished goods for daily orders
* Making up boxes
* Labelling goods for dispatch
* Loading goods on to pallets
* Liaising with couriers for collections
* Load deliveries using a Counterbalance Forklift
* Unload incoming deliveries of stock
* Keep warehouse tidy and organised at all times
* Continuously conduct stock monitoring for stock rotations
* Take part in stock takes
* Aid other areas of the business if required

Requirements
The successful candidate will need experience of working within a busy warehouse, and ideally working in a temperature-controlled environment where stock needs to be monitored (food or pharmaceuticals). A current counterbalance forklift license is preferred, but consideration will be given to those with an expired ticket who only require a refresher course. Due to the rural location of this position, own transport is essential.

This role is initially temporary, but there could be scope for a permanent opportunity for the right candidate.
