A well-known public organisation has offices in Crawley and is seeking an Infrastructure Engineer to support the Technology operations.

Your new role

The Infrastructure Engineer creates, manages, and supports solutions.


You will be involved in:



* Individuals in this role oversee the implementation, management, operational effectiveness, documentation, and decommissioning of the organisation's on-premises and cloud-based servers, networks, and application platforms.
* Successful candidates will be primarily concerned with user experience and continuous improvement, as well as recognising risks and mitigating them as part of a team when handling factors such as security, performance, and dependability. They must work proactively and cooperatively with a focused and friendly set of peers, managers, other IT teams, business users at all levels, and third-party support organisations.
* Working safely and quickly while paying attention to detail is a prized skill in a setting that is flexible enough to alter to meet operational needs. Flexibility is necessary and reciprocal, and it occasionally necessitates working outside regular business hours and being available on call.
* The ability to manage NextGen platforms and hyper-converged infrastructure will be advantageous.


What you'll need to succeed It is essential that the post holder has/is:


* A National Diploma or Higher National Diploma in Information Technology or similar experience.
* ITIL foundation training and/or certification.
* Design, deployment, commissioning, support, and decommissioning of various Windows servers or server roles, as well as VMWare and Citrix.
* A minimum of two years' experience as an Infrastructure Engineer or equivalent role.
* The ability to travel between locales for work purposes with short or no notice. Participate in an on-call rota to provide out-of-hours support or to supply updates, patches, upgrades, or new IT systems outside of business hours as required.
