Our client has an exciting opportunity for a self-motivated and eager CAD / CAM Engineer to join their busy Technical Department either on site in Canterbury or from home. The role is full time, Monday to Friday on a permanent basis.

Due to the nature of the client’s business the department is open between the hours of 7am to 7pm therefore a 2 weekly rotation is in place (0700 – 1630 / 0930 – 1900) – 45 hours a week.

This role will work with the experienced technical team to produce 2D / 3D drawings and programs for the production departments. You will be responsible for programming orders using CAD/CAM software primarily for tube laser machines in line with the production schedule, while ensuring maximum utilisation of materials.

The role will suit a team worker who is keen to learn and committed within this fast-paced workplace. Experience producing 2D & 3D CAD drawings (with a relevant qualification will be an advantage), you must have the ability to produce informative and clear production drawings including all technical information, you will need to be focused and diligent, with good communication and listening skills.
As a minimum, you will have working experience with 3D CAD, preferably Solid Works. Knowledge of Trumpf, SigmaNest and Steel Projects PLM software will be an advantage, however training will be given.
