Goldhawk Associates are working with a reputable firm of accountants who are looking to appoint an Assistant Audit Manager to their team. This role is based in Brighton and they are looking ideally for a qualified ACA accountant with previous experience of working with a varied client base and staff supervision. Reporting to the Audit Managers and Partners, they are looking for someone to lead on audit and support in the growth of their client base and current services. You will be responsible for working to deadlines, within budget and supervising on audit assignments, supporting the more junior members of the team, whilst planning and running audits for review. You will be exposed to a varied client base form large corporate clients to not for profit organisations. The role will be supported but they are offering a lot of autonomy with clients, so good communications skills are key.

Your role will be to provide a high quality client service experience for audit clients whilst managing budgets and supporting the team. You will work closely with the senior leadership team and provide technical expertise for both internal stakeholders and clients. Developing relationships and selling services will be a large part of this role so you must be comfortable networking and working with clients and peers.

Responsibilities:
- Complete audit planning alongside the partner and manager
- Coach and develop the team to maximise their contribution to the audit
- Supervise a team of assistants completing the on-site audit work
- Focus on the complicated audit areas and hold meetings with clients to discuss these complex areas and any audit issues
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with new and established clients
- Demonstrate initiative and judgement providing solutions to problems

You will be a qualified ACA/ACCA accountant with previous audit management experience. The firm offers a flexible benefits package, hybrid working, 25 days annual leave, and pension. There are development prospects, and they support and encourage this with ongoing training.
