Are you working as a Workshop Technician, Mechanic or Engineer, looking to develop your career and work on bigger, better machines and engines? Ever thought of moving into construction maintenance, working on diggers, dumpers, and excavators? Our Horsham workshop want to hear from you…

I bet you have plenty of experience in another industry, but no formal qualifications? You may even have talked to us previously but not been successful? SMT has recently launched its new NVQ programme, which means you can join us as Workshop Technician or Mechanic (we call them Engineers) from day one. and we will help you build experience on construction equipment, all while we fully support you to obtain your NVQ qualification.

This is a rare and exciting chance for you to utilise your current mechanical knowledge and experience of diagnosing problems, together with the use of your technical knowledge and the computerised diagnostic equipment, while working in the safe and supportive workshop environment.

We offer a great earning potential, having new and improved rates of pay, good overtime rates, plus London Weighting, OEM Training, 33 days annual leave (inc. bank holidays), pension scheme, Healthshield, annual bonus and free uniform.

To thrive in this position, you will have relevant mechanical knowledge, ideally in heavy plant equipment, hold a minimum of an NVQ level 3 or equivalent in automotive, construction, agriculture or heavy plant machinery maintenance and repair, along with a comprehensive understanding of hydraulics and electronics.
