HOURS OF WORK: Full time, Live-in position
SALARY: 20K - 22K (depending on experience)
PLACE OF WORK: Bexhill-On-Sea

Responsible for: Building and Client Management.

Job purpose: Day to day running of a 7 bedroom property managing local authority housing placements within a bespoke accommodation scheme


Paramount Independent Property Services have been successfully delivering a scheme for Rother District Council over three years which houses and supports vulnerable homeless females and children on a temporary basis. We are looking for a dedicated and motivated individual who can deliver outstanding client support, whilst managing the day to day tasks of running a 7 bedroom property. Offered with this exciting opportunity comes on-site accommodation for the live in scheme manager, includes private quarters. There is not the capacity to deliver this role without living on site. The live in accommodation consists of a bedroom with an ensuite bathroom, plus a private kitchen with cooking and washing facilities. This is a live-in role and you will be required to be present at the property overnight, except when on annual leave. All the clients in the scheme live independently and would not have any independent care needs. This role aims to provide advice and support to our clients as required in this purpose-built scheme.

The ideal person for this role would need to have:

a) An ability to work independently using own initiative whilst remaining accountable to line management and communicating effectively as part of a team.

b) Experience of working with vulnerable individuals, as well as substance misuse and/or mental health issues.

c) An understanding of the importance of supportive relationships and fulfilling lives, and especially sustainable work in developing resilience and preventing homelessness.

d) Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

e) The ability to establish good working relationships with service users, colleagues, other stakeholders externally and to work well independently and within a team.

f) A mature, thoughtful and proactive approach to the implementation of equal opportunities and management of diversity.

g) An understanding of, and adherence to legislation, procedures, policies and good practice guidelines relevant to the role



Duties

In relation to clients
1. To maintain a broad ongoing assessment of the clients to enable their safe and secure use of the scheme.
2. To liaise and sign post to specialist colleagues in other agencies including Mental Health, Housing, Adult Social Care, and any other partners to ensure the smooth running of the project.
3. Enable people to register with a GP and support people to access specialist health services such as dentist, stopping smoking support, sexual health services, weight management, diabetic clinics etc.
4. Support people to engage or re-engage in appropriate and supportive relationships with friends and family.
5. Support people to engage with their local community to enhance self-esteem and establish positive supportive social networks, for example
• Local interest groups
• Community projects
• Local cafes, community groups, churches


In relation to the Team
1. To attend and participate in team meetings if required
2. To provide cover on an occasional basis for absent colleagues at difference schemes in the area.
3. To operate agreed health & safety and security procedures.
4. To be responsible for security of premises.
5. To attend appropriate training courses, and participate in skill sharing sessions if required

In relation to other Agencies

1. To liaise with voluntary and statutory agencies to develop good working relationships and promote co working strategies where appropriate.
2. To be aware of legislation and national policies as they affect clients, particularly in the areas of housing, welfare rights, mental health, drug use and community care.


Other duties include:
• Client Sign in and sign out paperwork
• Daily cleaning including kitchen, bathrooms and communal areas
• Room Turnarounds when clients leave and arrive
• House shopping, cleaning products etc. (paid for on expenses)
• Monthly meter readings - Gas, Electric, Water (paid for by the company)
• Report any repairs or maintenance using FixFlo
• Put weekly bins out for collection and bring in
• Weekly Fire alarm tests
• Weekly room inspections
• Daily reports to local authority and head office
• Liaising with outside agencies and neighbours where appropriate.


You will need to pass enhanced DBS. A full UK driving license and access to a vehicle is preferable but not essential
