Structural Engineer busy Kent consultancy

We are offering an exciting opportunity for experienced Structural Engineers to join our friendly and professional team, taking a lead role on the structural design on a range of projects. Workload varies from small domestic alterations to large commercial new build and refurbishments.


Your new role


* Supporting the directors
* Taking the lead role on the technical engineering design of projects
* Working on multiple projects simultaneously
* Assist in the day to day management of engineers and technicians
* Liaising with clients, architects and external design team members to ensure efficient and integrated structural solutions are achieved
* Carrying out structural surveys, feasibility studies and site inspections.
* Attending DTMs and progress meetings as project engineer
* Ensuring Health & Safety is considered at all stages of the design process to ensure designs produced minimise risk during construction

What you'll need to succeed


* A minimum of 5+ years' experience in the preparation of structural design of refurbishment, structural modification and new build projects, covering common building materials
* A commercial awareness and ability to deliver high quality, detailed and creative designs, and think outside the box
* Checking of design calculations, drawings and specifications
* Have the ability to present reports, ideas and designs confidently and fluently, and to a high standard to internal and external audiences
* Ability to show experience of working with British Standards and Eurocodes
* Have good planning, organisation and time management skills in order to balance tasks and prioritise to meet project deadlines
* Extensive knowledge and familiarity with the following design software package, MasterSeries, TEDDS, NBS
* A good knowledge of AutoCAD would be an advantage

* An interest in pursuing sustainable, economic and practical design solutions to meet sustainability targets
