Our hugely successful client are looking for a Purchase Ledger/Accounts Assistant to join their small friendly team. You will need your own transport due to the client being based in a rural location on the outskirts of Haywards Heath. Initially for the first 6 months this would be office based but thereafter there is the opportunity to work 1 day a week from home.

Responsibilities:


Match and approve invoices against Purchase orders, obtain approval from other departments when required.input a high volume of invoices to system and file electronically accordinglyRespond to, investigate and resolve supplier and invoice queriesEnsure supplier records are kept up date (changes to address, bank details, credit limits)Assist with weekly payment runs when required.Ensure targets and objectives are achieved in accordance with appraisalsAssist the Purchase Ledger Team with all tasks as requiredDealing with post, email or telephone queries/resolving issues for internal and external customersUndertaking general clerical administration duties (e.g. organising and maintaining electronic files).Invoice and bank reconciliations.Reconciling documents, such as statements analysing reasons for discrepancies and finding solutions to complete processing to enable suppliers to be paid promptlyMaintaining/Reviewing Customer and supplier master data
Requirements:


Previous Purchase ledger experience preferredAbility to work on own initiative and as an effective team memberNumerate, accurate with the ability to meet deadlinesAbility to prioritise and manage workloadsStrong organisation and administration skills with good attention to detailSelf-motivated and flexible with the ability to work in a busy environmentExcellent communication skills at all levels both written and verbalGood computer literacy, with working knowledge of Word, Excel and OutlookConfident telephone manner
