Job title: Factory Operative

Salary: £11 per hour

Location: Burgess Hill

Duration: Temporary initially (with opportunity for permanent work for the right person)

Hours: Monday - Thursday, 7am - 5pm (4:30pm finish on Thursdays), some overtime available



We are delighted to be working with a leading welding and laser cutting company, also based in the Burgess Hill area, who are currently seeking to appoint an experienced Factory Operative. The role will mostly see the Factory Operative working in the Cleaning Area, operating various tools and machines to finish the products ready for dispatch.



The role requires a sensible, physically fit/able and highly reliable individual who can 'hit the ground running', working autonomously and offers good working experience in a Factory environment. This role will start as a Temporary position but may progress into a Permanent contract for the right person.



Key duties:

* Using Manual Mill for countersinking, reaming and drilling
* Running (not setting) the Vertical Machining Centre (VMC)
* Use of the rumbler and linishing / de-burring machine
* Hand de-burring
* Conducting basic quality control
* Packing goods ready for dispatch
* Assisting with other departments as and when required
* General housekeeping



Key skills required:

* Experience of working in a factory environment and using hand/power tools
* Experience of milling, drilling and de-burring is desirable
* Has some knowledge of Health and Safety in a factory environment
* Physically fit and able
* Highly reliable and punctual
* Conscientious and adaptable
