INVENTORY & PURCHASING CONTROLLER – UCKFIELD

Full time role – 39 hours per week

 

Our client is a world leader in the design and manufacture of integrated washroom hygiene systems from Cotton towel and Paper dispensers to Soap dispensers and Air Fresheners. The Company is part of a Global business with €3.1bn turnover operating in 28 countries with 440 Production and Distribution centres. The company has a turnover of £15m and employs 50 people in the UK.

An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Inventory & Purchasing Specialist based in East Sussex with some travel throughout the UK and Europe as the company purchases from suppliers around the world.

Reporting to the Global Supply Chain Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for improving Inventory control and stock value within the organisation, as well as some areas of purchasing which will involve working cohesively with the Purchasing Manager, the Quality Manager and Warehouse Manager.

Key responsibilities include:


Analysing stock and finding ways to improve the stock control processes whilst making sure that there are no stock shortages in key production lines.  Working with the Quality Manager in relation to stock with limited shelf life to minimise stock write offs.Liaising with external suppliers to ensure that purchased products are available to meet customer orders and that all orders are completed in full and dispatched on time to meet agreed delivery datesMinimising costs in terms of stock holdings and distribution costs.Developing and maintaining good working relationships with external suppliers.Maintaining the database accurately within the ERP system ensuring correct stocking parameters.
The successful candidate will have an HND or higher qualification in relevant Business Management, Supply Chain Management, purchasing or CIPS membership. You must have at least 2 years’ previous experience of working within a Manufacturing operation with stock control and purchasing experience.

Good written and verbal communication skills are essential, as you will require the ability to form and build relationships with people all over the world. You must have strong computer skills and competency in MS Office applications especially Excel and be able to work on your own initiative, organising your work to ensure you meet business priorities. A full driving licence, own car and car insurance which covers business mileage is essential for this role.
