Barker Munro Recruitment, one of Kent's premier insurance recruitment specialists are currently working with a fantastic name in the UK Insurance market who is looking to appoint an Accident & Travel Claims Handler.

As the Claims handler, you will handle claims from first notification of loss to settlement through the whole cradle to grave process including fulfilment and loss recovery. You will handle the claims under a delegate authority basis and will work closely with the other product specialist teams within the business such as property. You'll liaise with the claimant via telephone, email and traditional post to ensure you keep track of the claim through the whole process. You'll be setting up new claims on the system and sending out claim acknowledgements to claimants/insured's and gathering relevant information from a variety of sources. You will have responsibility for a number of other actions and duties in this role, all that can be trained and all that will enable you to carry out the job to the best of your ability.

To be considered for the position of Accident & Travel Claims handler, you will ideally have had some claims handling experience and ideally have had exposure to travel or emergency assistance claims. A strong customer focus and prioritisation skills will be second nature, as will the experience to effectively communicate with diverse audiences and to act with diplomacy at all times.

In an ideal world, it would be great if you have some insurance qualifications such as CII or CILA or working towards these or similar qualifications, but it's certainly not a deal breaker.

Good communication skills, written and verbal are key. You'll be working with not only UK citizens but also foreign nationals so diplomacy and patience are key skills.

The business operates a Hybrid working pattern which is based around 3 days in the office and 2 days working from home.
