The Centre for Health Services Studies is seeking to appoint a Research Fellow to support their growing portfolio of research in health and social care organisation, whilst also supporting the MSc Health Management.

The post holder will play a key role in supporting CHSS’s research on organisational change in the NHS and other health and social care systems. We are seeking someone with a particular interest in health and social care service delivery and organisation, the sociology of organisations, public management, organisational theory, or policy analysis.

The successful candidate will be required to carry out high quality independent research, communicate effectively with stakeholders and contribute to the development and strategic work of CHSS. You will promote the Centre’s scholarly activities as well as support in teaching and student supervision of post and undergraduate levels for health and social care professionals.

As a Research Fellow, you will:

Collaborate actively with other researchers in CHSS, local health and local government organisations to complete research projects.
Undertake research and teaching related to health and care services
Undertake student supervision
Contribute to the development and strategic work of CHSS
Write or contribute to publications or disseminate research findings via appropriate media, conferences or events.
To succeed in this role you will have:

A PhD, or near to completion of a PhD (or equivalent experience) in a relevant subject.
Knowledge of qualitative research methods and their application.
Experience in health and care research or relevant field as a postdoctoral researcher or equivalent.
Evidence of ability to write research reports, journal articles, and other written outputs (e.g. blogs)
Willingness to contributing fully and flexibly as part of the research programme
The Centre for Health Services Studies has a wide portfolio of research projects delivered through local, national and international collaborations and is one of three specialist research units with an excellent track record in health and social care research. Staff are drawn from a range of social science and clinical disciplines and we have extensive collaborative research with our local health and social care communities.
