Job Title: Motor Claims Counter Fraud Investigator

Salary: £25 - 31,000

Location: Tonbridge, hybrid working available

Our client, an established insurance company, is looking for an experienced Counter Fraud Investigator to join their busy, successful team.

You will be handling, investigating, and concluding motor insurance claims where fraud is suspected.

Duties include:

* Completing open source and company provided database searches for the validation of claims identified as requiring such research.
* Conducting extensive confidential investigations of allegations.
* Dealing with risk referrals to determine whether enhanced validation work is required and if so what.
* Accurately recording savings achieved.
* Making applications to third parties for information in a method compliant with the Data Protection Act, such as Police Appendix D (b) mandates.
* Writing discrepancy, reservation of rights and repudiation letters.
* Clearly and accurately instructing approved external suppliers where appropriate.
* Methodically approaching each investigation and working through appropriate validation processes to achieve the desired outcome for claims where fraud can be evidenced.



The successful candidate will have:

* Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and a good level of numeracy.
* Solid experience in a fraud investigation role.
* Knowledge of fraud related legal proceedings, particularly the Fraud Act 2006.
* A questioning, analytical mind, with the ability to think laterally.
* Fantastic attention to detail and nuance, both written and verbal.
* A passion for counter fraud work.
* Polite assertiveness and determination to get full and accurate information.
* Tact to manage difficult conversations and get the most out of a situation whilst maintaining professionalism.
