Do you have experience of providing technical support in a theatre environment? Do you enjoy working with the public and pride yourself on your professional and approachable attitude?

We are looking for an experienced Technician to deliver day to day technical services across the Gulbenkian Arts Centre and Institute of Cultural & Creative Industries; this post is full-time (35 hours per week) including weekends and bank holidays.

You will use both your knowledge and your practical experience to provide advice and support, working within established procedures and using judgement to problem-solve and ensure the smooth running of programmes.

As Technician you will:

program lighting, sound and projection to support events and offer technical knowledge to venue users
interpret technical riders before and during live performances to ensure successful event delivery
monitor and perform repairs and maintenance on technical equipment
To succeed in this role you will have:

a degree relating to technical theatre or the equivalent professional experience
experience of preparing and delivering multi-media and audio-visual elements within live performance
experience of lighting operation and basic lighting design, and of live sound operation and basic sound design
an ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines
