Involvement Service Manager

£27,800 rising to £30,693 after 5 years' service

Canterbury, Kent

Porchlight

The heart of our success as an organisation is the involvement of our clients in the decisions that matter. We know that actively empowering our clients to have their voices heard, to make informed decisions and to have real influence can help us build a charity that works better for everyone. Our clients educate and guide us, helping us to respond in the right way, to plan for the future and to design and deliver solutions that truly meet the needs of the people we support.

In this role you will lead our involvement service, helping the people we support to shape our services, and giving them a voice within the organisation. This will include managing a small team of involvement and participation workers across internal services and in communities throughout Kent.

Your team’s primary focus is involving the people we support in decisions about the services they use – from concept, design, and delivery through to evaluation. Working with other teams across the organisation, the senior management team and the board of trustees, your team will ensure that a ‘shared ownership’ approach is applied to everything we do.

You will maintain an ongoing dialogue between the organisation and the communities we support, and ensure that individuals are empowered to use their voices to improve our services.

The role requires:
- Good communication and leadership skills
- Experience of working in partnership with other organisations
- Knowledge of involvement and co-production practises and values
- A full driving licence and access to a car (subject to the provisions of the Disability Discrimination Act 1995 and Equality Act 2010).

- Flexible working hours
- 25 days holiday per year (increasing to 30 days after 5 years service) pro rata
