The School of Sport and Exercise Sciences is seeking to appoint an exceptional Lecturer in Sport and Exercise Sciences to join its teaching team.

We are looking for an individual to provide innovative and engaging teaching to students on programmes within the School at undergraduate level, including the delivery of lectures, seminars, and laboratory practicals. We particularly welcome applications from individuals specialising in Psychology (within health-related areas of sport and exercise sciences). We are seeking a dynamic lecturer with a strong commitment to student experience and learning enhancement.

As Lecturer in Sport and Exercise Science you will:


  • teach as part of the teaching team within an established programme of study

  • collaborate with academic colleagues on course development and curriculum changes

  • ensure that content, methods of delivery and learning materials will meet the defined learning objectives

  • supervise the work of students, provide advice on study skills and help them with learning problems



As Lecturer in Sport and Exercise Science you will have:

  • a first degree or equivalent in a relevant subject area

  • PhD (or close to completion) or evidence of significant and relevant professional practice experience in a relevant discipline

  • sufficient breadth or depth of specialist knowledge in the discipline

  • excellent interpersonal, presentation and communication skills

  • the ability to engage the interest and enthusiasm of students and inspire them to learn



The School of Sport and Exercise Sciences is a leading department for the study of sport that is friendly, dynamic and innovative.
