Are you an experienced Finance and Resources professional, keen to take on a new challenge? If so this could be the perfect role. You will be a member of the Divisional Operations management team, responsible for leading the provision of financial performance management for the Division. In this varied role, you will support the Division's financial planning process, agree and manage budgets, and provide strategic advice to the Director of Division, Director of Operations and budget holders on performance against budgets and other financial targets.

You will have responsibility for the Finance & Resources team, which encompasses day-to-day management of divisional finances, interim transitional support for the division, and the provision of business information in order to support the whole range of divisional activities.

As Finance & Resources Manager you will:
• Support and advise the senior management team in the creation and ongoing review of divisional financial strategy
• Oversee the financial management and monitor financial performance of the portfolio of divisional funds, ensuring that the Division’s financial strategy is implemented effectively
• Represent the division in university level financial fora as required, acting as the key finance contact and liaising with relevant central finance departments on a regular basis
• Provide key management information to aide decision-making by the Divisional Senior Management Team including forecasting, scenario planning and analysis of the financial performance of disciplines

To be successful in this role you will have/be:
• Recognised accountancy qualification (e.g. ACCA, CIMA), or equivalent (if internal to the University then Part Qualified and working towards will be considered)
• Substantial experience of working in a finance environment at a similar level using a wide range of financial procedures and management accounting
• Experience of working with computerised financial systems (UBW or similar)
• Experience of staff management and managing teams including setting objectives, monitoring performance, motivating and developing staff
