Fixed Term Support Worker - 3 Months

HOURLY RATE: - £10.25

HOURS - 21 hours guaranteed with extra hours available

ADDITIONAL CASUAL SHIFTS PAID AT THE FOLLOWING HOURLY RATES:-

Day Services - £9.00

Residential and Supported Living - £10.25

Waking Nights £11.00

Sleep Ins - £60 per night

SHIFTS: You will need to be flexible in the shifts you can do which will include:-

Earlies - 7.30am to 4pm

Late - 4pm to 10.30pm

And any other shifts that need to be covered including Nights. Some shifts will require lone working.

LOCATION: Brompton House, Brompton Gillingham

About the Role:

This role has been put in place to support our current staff team. Adding an extra layer of support to cover vacancies, sickness and annual leave.

We want to ensure all our staff get the support and rest they deserve at this time.

This role will play a vital part in ensuring that our services run smoothly and safely. Utilizing your flexibility, passion and skills across all our services, working alongside our current Support Workers.

The role will be helping our residents with their day to day lives, encouraging them to live as independently as possible, this is a personally rewarding role where you can build on your skills and experience, whilst delivering exceptional care and support to our service users and their families.

Having a background in supporting people with Autism, Learning Disability or Mental Health within a social care environment is an Essential criteria for this role.

About the Service: Brompton House

Brompton House is one of our Specialist Supported Living Establishments that provides 24 hour support. It has 7 individual flats over 4 floors. Currently supporting 5 autistic individuals aged between 25 to 36, who also have other additional needs such as learning disabilities.

Our tenants can also show verbally and physically challenging behaviours such as hair pulling, lashing out, shouting and swearing. Support is also required with Personal Care depending on the needs of the person, some verbal prompting and some physical support.

Due to Covid restrictions we are not able to do all the activities that the tenants have previously done such as swimming and communal BBQs to name a few. But we are still enjoying walking, picnics and trips to the coast when we can.

Everyone we support is unique and at Brompton House they pride themselves on supporting everyone in their own individual way.

Tasks / Responsibilities of a Support Worker:

The Support Worker role may include but not be limited to:

o Drive an individuals mobility car or service vehicle Manual Licence required. ESSENTIAL
o Support individuals within the community in activities such as bike rides, long walks and shopping,
o Uphold their privacy, confidentially and dignity
o Assisting individuals with personal care and hygiene
o Administering medication
o Household management tasks cooking, cleaning etc.
o Handle money to shop, going to the bank etc
o Working with individuals who can display challenging behaviours hurting self or others, running away, throwing things, swearing, shouting.
o Working with and supporting individuals with additional needs, such as epilepsy, pica, learning disabilities.
o To form good working relationships with other members of staff across different services.
o May include lone working
o Ensuring written records are correctly maintained.
