Scope of the role:

The Head of Income and Partnerships will be responsible for delivering organisational growth through income generation, innovation and partnerships. In order to achieve this, the post-holder will manage a multi-disciplined team which leads on partnerships with the sector, project development, and delivering the Migrant Help Strategy 2020-23.

A key part of this role will be the development and management of the charity’s long-term income strategy which will include a wide variety of sources such as high net worth individuals, corporates, trusts and foundations, and face to face negotiations. A part of this strategy will be to acquire and develop appropriate materials and case studies from our operational teams, and setting up a structure to manage funder relationships.

In addition to income generation, the post-holder will oversee the charity’s partner relationships, working with key sectors to seek out opportunities to improve the life chances of our clients. Alongside the Project and Partnerships Manager, the Head of Income and Partnerships will build and maintain strong relationships with charities and organisations delivering services to our client group, and identify where we can contribute to the success of the sector.

The role will be responsible for developing new and innovative projects to meet strategic objectives and provide more support to our clients, our partners and the sector. The Head of Income and Partnerships will manage the process from idea to feasibility to proposal with support from Project Coordinators, while seeking funding and resources in order to see the projects through to delivery.



Duties and Responsibilities:


Develop and deliver the long-term income strategy for the organisation, building a portfolio of diverse income and funding streams.
Work with teams internally to develop case studies and fundraising materials as required to support income generating activities.
Responsible for setting and achieving income and activity targets, showing year on year development.
Oversee all organisational funding applications using a systematic approach, ensuring the team adhere to the bid procedure and policy, and that all applications are in keeping with the Migrant Help Strategy.
Build and manage relationships with key stakeholders, including grants and trusts, high net worth individuals, corporate partners.
Work with the Communications Team to maximise income opportunities, build the charity’s profile, develop campaigns and promote the work of the strategy.
Monitor and evaluate activities to ensure a high return on investment.
Support the development of charity’s strategic plan.
Develop strong partnerships with organisations and community groups in the sector, identifying opportunities to collaborate and share good practice.
Represent Migrant Help at key sector meetings, network events and pitches as required.
Ability to engage and motivate a range of diverse audiences, including trustees, senior management, volunteers and service users.
Oversee the development of new operation and strategic projects, including planning and approval, sourcing potential funding streams, mobilisation if successful and evaluation.
Develop a volunteering strategy, policy and process with the support of the Projects and Funding Coordinator.
Work with the Operations Teams to map service delivery innovations and improvements, ensure a consistent approach and share learnings.
Report on the progress of the Strategy and Engagement Team, providing updates on strategy and project developments.
Lead on organisational research projects, including linking with relevant bodies and identifying outcomes.
Work with Director of Strategy and Engagement to lead on the organisation’s Social Value.
Produce reports for senior management and the Board of Trustees on progress and upcoming activities.
Liaise internally across the organisation to coproduce materials, develop project proposals and share the work of the team.
Carry out any other duties that support the growth of the organisation as deemed appropriate.
Travel will be required.
