Are you wanting a new and exciting challenge? The Duke of York’s Royal Military School is a boarding school for students aged 11 to 18 years which has an exciting opportunity for a Lead Nurse to join our medical centre team. From the moment you enter the school site, you will appreciate how very special our school is.
The new incumbent will be expected to provide a high standard of health & welfare for our students with the role developing dependant on the specific experience of the successful candidate. You will manage a small team, working autonomously, liaising daily with boarding staff, assessing needs of students, using a problem-solving approach to reach clinical, therapeutic & prescribing decisions. As an organisation we aim to care for all our student’s needs, physical, social, emotional needs and to offer superior care we need a RGN qualified nurse with up to date qualification and registration, good leadership skills & excellent ICT skills. Experience of working with young adults, and in a school, environment would be beneficial.

Working a flexible shift pattern of approx. three, 12 hour shifts per week during term time, Monday to Saturday, 0700 – 2000 or 0900 – 2200, with an hour unpaid break. Plus working on training days, and at start and end of terms, to full-fill approx. 35 weeks of working. You are paid for 38 weeks which includes holiday element and equally paid over the 12 months. Salary: Equivalent to NHS Band 7 plus the opportunity to join the Local Government Pension Scheme.
