REED Engineering are recruiting a Project Manager for a Whitstable based company who are the market leaders in energy-efficient ventilation and indoor climate systems.
The Project Manager’s remit will be to establish a group project management process, providing project management leadership to the local sites and taking personal responsibility for delivering the pipeline of projects that have been identified as being critical to the companies overall strategy and business plan to cement the region as one of the most prominent “Stronghold” geographies for the company in the future.
The successful candidate will be an ambitious and successful project manager or project engineer with the ability to build, motivate and drive high performing teams and to collaborate effectively with peers and key stake-holders. She/He is a growth orientated professional, with a proven record of successful delivery.
Key Challenges and Responsibilities
Build, motivate and lead project teams in the successful delivery of multiple co-running projects
Establish a delivery centric culture where ownership and accountability are “the norm”
Working closely with the technical director and all business functions, develop a lean product delivery process which is scalable to the needs of the specific project, and which can be used by any business unit. This will include: identification and introduction of new processes and procedures; project metrics that drive the desired behaviors; reporting on project progress, budgets, schedule and risk identification and mitigation; resource management, working closely with functional leads.
Take a strategic approach to project delivery, understanding and addressing inter-dependencies and raising the real issues
Maintain an awareness of, and where beneficial to the business implement, new project management practices. This could be via external networking, blogs, forums and / or engagement with the wider team
Provide feedback regarding future team development opportunities, ensuring that the required technical and operational skills are in place to address future project needs
Required Skills & Qualifications
An excellent communicator with the ability to build strong and trusting relationships
Proactive with a strong can-do attitude
Able to boast of an excellent track-record in the delivery of projects, preferably in a technical environment
Capable of defining clear and agreed project requirements
Able to drive common-objective thinking, with a complete focus on providing solutions and avoiding barriers
Persuasive, have a strong continuous improvement mindset, and have proven experience of dealing with diverse internal - and external stakeholders
Dynamic, driven with the capability and aspiration to develop yourself further within a growing business
Degree qualified in a technical subject
Proven experience in successfully delivering multiple projects of various duration and complexity in a technical environment
Project Management qualification (Prince 2 preferred)
Experience in developing and introducing new processes and procedures that enhance the project experience
A thorough understanding of modern product management processes, methodologies and tools that will deliver the most effective & efficient
means of delivery – one size does not fit all. Lean (visual planning preferred), waterfall and agile
