About the scheme

Mansion Court is a block of 41 leasehold retirement apartments located in Southsea, close to the seafront. It is made up of 31 one bedroomed and 10 two bedroom properties.


Accommodation: The manager's apartment is a ground floor corner apartment with two bedrooms.

Scheme managers are each responsible for their own bills (council tax, electricity, TV licence, personal phone, etc.) with the exception of the following expenses which are paid by Grange Management Ltd;

* Water bills.
* Contents insurance

Communal facilities: Consist of a manager's office, communal lounge, laundry, kitchen, conservatory and garden areas. There is also a guest room available for visitors to use, for a small charge.

There is a car park onsite and parking is on a first come first served basis, with the manager having one allocated space.

We are currently looking for a Resident Scheme Manager to join our team on a permanent full time basis.

What you'll be doing

The role is customer facing and varied, you will be responsible for supporting residents in maintaining their well-being and independence and support the delivery of quality property management services, which respond to customer and business needs. You'll be building and maintaining effective relationships with residents, their relatives and relevant external agencies as well as welcoming new residents.

You will oversee the general management of the building including organisation of repairs and maintenance of internal and external communal areas, along with the structure of the building. You will also monitor our cleaning, gardening and window cleaning contractors to ensure they are delivering services in-line with the required specification.

You'll be dealing with generic leaseholder matters including lease and property queries, essential testing of onsite equipment, addressing customer complaints as the first point of contact and dealing with any general enquiries that may arise.

We're looking for someone that has a 'can do' attitude and is able to manage their own workload independently and can empathise with the resident age group - typically 60 plus.

The ideal candidate will have;

* A general understanding of building maintenance and repairs.
* Excellent communication skills.
* The ability to develop and nurture good working relationships with residents, contractors and clients.
* A general knowledge of leasehold property would be beneficial but not essential.

You must be self-motivated and be able to demonstrate excellent organisational and interpersonal skills. You will need good customer skills and have a proven track record in providing services to those with a support need. Above all we are looking for someone with a patient and caring personality and a commitment to service excellence.
