About Us:

Canterbury Oast Trust provides care and support for adults with learning disabilities in small family style homes within a residential or community setting across Kent and East Sussex. Our charity also provides development opportunities and accredited training courses in a variety of vocational subjects through our Life Skills Services. These popular programmes help our service users to develop their skills in supportive real life settings. Canterbury Oast Trust also owns and operates the South of England Rare Breeds Centre.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

We are looking to appoint a LIFE SKILLS AREA MANAGER to lead our Life Skills teams covering the Art at the Farm Gallery and the MY LIFE Skills Academy based in the purpose built Foley Centre at Highlands Farm, Woodchurch, Ashford, Kent. You will also oversee the training programme within the Granary Restaurant,

As a LIFE SKILLS AREA MANAGER under the guidance of our Head of Care, you will be responsible for the day to day operational management of the services, ensuring students are provided with a quality service which meets their identified training or well-being requirements. You will also lead, manage and motivate the staff teams.

This is an exciting opportunity for an energetic, enthusiastic and compassionate individual looking for a rewarding career. You will work closely with the Head of Care and the other Life Skills Area Manager who leads our land-based programmes.

About You:

AS A LIFE SKILLS AREA MANAGER YOU WILL NEED:

o Level 3 Vocational Qualification with 2 years\' experience in your area of your specialism
o NVQ3 in Health and Social Care or willingness to undertake within 18 months of commencement
o Experience of setting and effectively managing service budgets
o 2 years\' experience of providing direction, leadership and motivating a team
o Level 2 Assessing Candidates or equivalent qualification
o Understanding the needs and rights of adults with Learning Disabilities
o Good working knowledge and understanding of Health and Safety
