Chatham Grammar School for Girls

Chatham Grammar, part of the University of Kent Academies Trust, is seeking to appoint a strategic, motivated and forward-thinking individual for the role of Site and Facilities Manager, who will have overall responsibility for the Academy site and facilities in order to provide a safe, efficient and effective learning environment. The Site and Facilities Manager will be responsible for all aspects of Health & Safety and will manage a team of site and cleaning staff.

Since joining the University of Kent Academies Trust, the Chatham Grammar site has been transformed with up-to-date technology, decorating and maintenance works. It is an exciting time to join us - the successful candidate will have a key role in continuing this transformation by developing a scheduled programme of maintenance and development of our site. Your first project would be to oversee the building of a new £2.4m classroom block, with works beginning this year. The Academy is a popular venue for the community, with lettings and events taking place most days of the week and during school closure periods.

The successful candidate will have a proven track record of managing a team and a variety of contractors. A recognised Health & Safety qualification is essential, and a qualification in Facilities Management would be desirable. Experience of working in the education sector would be beneficial, specifically the considerations that must be given to safeguarding. Your application should make reference to your experience of financial administration, including working to budgets, and any project management experience you may have.
