The King’s School, Canterbury, Kent (co-educational boarding & day secondary school with 826 pupils) is looking for a Sailing Club Bosun to assist the Head of Sailing in developing the facilities as we continue to work towards national success. The sailing club generally operates from inland and coastal venues near Canterbury; currently Westbere Lake, near Fordwich and at Herne Bay Sailing Club.
Reporting to the Head of Sailing, the successful applicant will need to be an experienced sailor with sound knowledge of sailing craft and the associated safety equipment.
Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
• Undertake annual checks of safety equipment, sailing and powered craft in accordance with RYA guidelines.
• Organising the movement/relocation of boats and equipment as directed.
• Assist the sailing team in collecting and making deliveries of equipment.
• Carry out minor repairs to sailing dinghies and power boats.
Applicants should hold RYA safety boat helm, preferred Power Boat Instructor (PBI) or willing to undertake training as a PBI.
Salary will be £16 per hour, equating to an annual salary of £8,320.
